Chalet Abbaye was originally built in the 19th century as a farm house barn. It has been lovingly
restored during the summer and winter of 2003 and is now a perfect combination of atmospheric
rustic beams and modern luxury.
It is situated in St Jean d'Aulps in the "Portes du Soleil", a unique ski area of 12 linked
resorts along the boarders of France & Switzerland, they can all be accessed with the same
ski pass. With 650km of pistes climbing from 1000 to 2460m and 215 lifts you can spend the
week wherever takes your fancy in the largest skiing area in the world.
Our closest resort is Morzine which is just a 10 minute drive away. It is a beautiful family
resort, an old market town where the architecture has kept its traditional charm. There is
a vast amount for all ages, traditional festivals, the cuisine, culture, music, dancing,
sporting events and shows.
St Jean d'Aulps is on the Grande Route des Alpes, it is 30 minutes south of Lake Geneva,
making it perfect for holidays all year round.It is surrounded by beautiful countryside
and mountains, St Jean d'Aulps even has its own ski station, La Grande Terche. ESF provide
ski or boarding lessons for adults & children at "La Grande Terche" and there is a creche
on the way up to the telecabine. The lift is also open in Summer for biking and climbing.
The other side of the valley remains completely untouched and Chalet Abbaye is the perfect
starting point for stunning walks at all levels.
The other 8 nearby villages also offer many attractions and activities for both summer and
winter in the form of fetes and local events, natural and religious sites, museums, expositions,
guided visits, sports, bars and restaurants.
St Jean d'Aulps is a fairly small French village of 1070 inhabitants with a friendly community
spirit. It has its own school, church and Marie so continues to function out of season unlike
most resorts.
Chalet Abbaye is just a ten minute walk from the centre of the village where there is a tourist
information centre to help with all your requests and involve you in the local programme of
events. As well as restaurants, bars and all the facilities at the ski station, the village
boasts two very good restaurants, bars, take-aways, a café and several shops

Although Chalet Abbaye is rented as self catering we are happy to provide a few 3 course
meals during your weeks stay. We can also help with hiring skis, organising lessons,
advising childcare and helping with transfers to and from Geneva airport. We
aim to be as flexible as possible so that your holiday can be tailored specifically to your needs.

Prices are for self catering and include electricity, water, all local taxes,
linen and towels. Rentals run from Saturday at 4pm until the following Saturday at 10am.
25% is required at the time of booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks before your holiday.
We also require a £300 refundable damage deposit, this will be returned to you on your departure.
We give you the option of cleaning the chalet yourself at the end of your stay, should you
decide not to, £50 will be charged to your final invoice.
All monies can be paid in pounds sterling into our English bank account, details of which
you will receive with your booking form and our terms and conditions.
